Happenings - Minooka's Home Decorating Contest
Come join in the fn and decorate your house to make the
village more festive for the upcoming holiday season.
You must register by December 14, 2007. Judging will be
December 17-18, 2007 in the evening; so don’t forget to leave
your lights on! Results will be announced at the December
19, 2007 Village Board meeting and in local newspapers. A
notification letter will be mailed to all winners.
Prizes:
- 1st place receives $100.00 cash and a recognition sign
for the front lawn
- 2nd place receives $75.00 cash
- 3rd place receives $50.00 cash
The following rules apply:
- Entrants must have their Christmas lights on by 6:00pm
the evenings of the judging.
- House numbers must be clearly marked for the judges to
see.
- Last year’s first place winner is not eligible to enter
this year.
- All decisions of the judges are official and final.
Judging will be done on the following criteria:
- Attractive use of light and color
- Originality
- Creativity
- Attractive use of other decorations (lawn ornaments,
tree ornaments, mailbox ornaments, etc.)
