Minooka Patrol Officer BadgeOur objectives as a dedicated law enforcement agency are to serve, protect, and preserve the lives of our residents and people visiting our village. Our police department reduces the opportunity for criminal activity and accidents being so pro-active. Community Policing is a philosophy we take seriously. The Minooka Police Department has instituted several community projects and programs including crime prevention, neighborhood watch, bicycle patrol, school resource officer, vacation house checks, safe school zones, educational forums for gang and drug awareness and safety programs for our citizens.

The police department is continually striving to improve services to the community.

Minooka Police were the leaders in establishing and actively participating in two gang suppression organizations C.H.A.M.P.S. in Will County consists of the villages of Channahon, Minooka, Plainfield, and Shorewood.  In Grundy County N.T.T.F. which stands for No Tolerance Task Force, in which all law enforcement agencies participate. In addition to law enforcement both organizations have members from schools, park districts, states attorney's and citizens. The goals and tasks are to reach the youth and help deter them from joining gangs by pro-active anti-drug and drug education and awareness. Our village is committed to having a zero tolerance for gang activity, drugs and underage alcohol consumption.
