New Residents

Welcome to the Village of Minooka! We are so glad to have you!  For your convenience, we have assembled some information to help get you acquainted with your new community. We have a list of things to remember when you first move into your new home. We encourage you to look through this information as well as other information on our website. We also encourage you to get involved. The Village has a number of opportunities for residents to volunteer. It's a great way to help and learn about your community while meeting new friends and neighbors!

If you have any questions, please contact the Village Hall at (815) 467-2151.

We are proud of the Village of Minooka and hope that you will share in that hometown pride!

Hydrant Flushing

When hydrant flushing is needed to be conducted, flushing the system may introduce discolored water.  If you notice discolored water in your home, run an outside faucet or your bathtub faucet for 15 minutes or until the water runs clear.  The discoloration is not harmful, but is due to the disturbance of sediment and iron that may have built up on the inside of the piping.  If discolored water persists, please contact Public Works at (815) 467-8868.

Winter Parking is prohibited after a 2" or greater snowfall until streets are fully plowed.

Aux Sable Subdivision Parking Permits – The Village of Minooka has a parking restriction in Aux Sable subdivision. Parking Permits are issued for personal vehicles. This will allow parking on the roadway during the restricted time as stated on the signs. The $2.00 parking permits are available for purchase at the Village Hall. You will need to provide the following information: vehicle registration, full description of the vehicle and Illinois driver’s license reflecting current Aux Sable subdivision address.

Street Numbers

The Village requests residents and businesses to post their legible and visible street address number either near the entranceway to the home, or by the entrance to the property. This assists emergency workers in responding more quickly to requests for service.

Check out the Building Department page for more code information.
